In 2006, the Government of Israel adopted the Public Committee Report for the preparation of a Multiyear National Plan for Road Safety (the Sheinin Report), and the Knesset passed the 2006 National Road Safety Authority Law (Temporary Order).
The decision to establish an independent National Road Safety Authority signifies the Israeli government’s acknowledgement of the fact that road safety requires in-depth attention, and that a practical strategic plan is necessary to improve the safety of road users in Israel – drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and bicyclists.
In 2007, the NRSA commenced its work and outlined its mission.

Week end! Is an Israeli satirical entertainment program broadcast by Channel 2 franchise network between 2008 and 2010.
The program includes a satirical and humorous references to the events of the past week, mainly through imitation, skits, jokes and refinements on the headlines this week.
The first season aired on September 19, 2008, and aired every Saturday night (first program aired on Friday, but due to the program "Survivor" on Channel 10 the broadcast day changed to Saturday). As of December 5, 2008 joined the team, Mickey Geva and Eli Yatzpan. The season ended on 7 February 2009.
The second season aired starting from 15 May 2009, following the success of the first season. The season ended in September 2009.
